Phoenix Non-Ferrous Technologies is committed to Sustainable manufacturing!
Most people are familiar with the 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We embrace the 5R concept promoted by Brother International
which adds two other key concepts – Refuse and Reform.
Phoenix uses only alloys that do not contain lead and that do not liberate harmful byproducts while being processed. Casting of metal parts is more environmentally friendly than producing the same parts in plastic. High strength non-ferrous alloys do not rust and disintegrate as iron does.
Our metal casting process produces very little waste. Casting sand is reused over and over. Any metal left after finishing of products is melted down and reused.
We are exploring the use of waste materials from other facilities to be used in our casting process. Remanufacturing of parts for older machines and equipment keeps them running longer and out of the waste heap.
Our process has been engineered to use many “off the shelf” products rather than custom designed industry specific components. Part of our business is the adaptation of older hardware and equipment to work in new applications.
All of our scrap metal is melted down and reused. We can also use metal waste from machine shops and other sources. All of the parts that we make can be recycled when they are no longer useful for their designed purpose.
